Mrs. Lois Moses is a native of Philadelphia.  She holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of California at Los Angeles, a law degree from Temple University (with a concentration in Transactional Law) and is a graduate of LaSalle University’s Master’s Program in Psychology.  

 

As a Performance Artist and Poet, she has self-published and three collections of poetry entitled, Not Just Another…Black/Woman, Missing Pages…(Women Behind the Glass Door), A Timely Trinity and a Self-titled spoken word CD. Her work speaks to and highlights the history of African women’s journeys to/experiences in/and stories of America. Lois is the co-creator or numerous touring Performance pieces including, “No More Blues Black/Woman”, “Celebrating the Dream”, “No Child Should be…Left Behind”. Her most recent works are, “Say That He Had More Than a Dream, a multi-media performance piece which opened at Juniata College on January 19, 2015, and a one women performance art piece is titled, “Beyond Sound and Fury: Sacrifice and the True Poetic Voice”, a poetic conversation that seeks to re-define, re-frame and re-narrate our stories, filling in those omissions that are left out in order to empower and know our true selves.  She has performed with nationally reknown poets/artists/musicians such as Sonia Sanchez, Nikki Giovanni, Kimmika L. H.  Williams, Regie Gibson, and Jill Scott to mention a few.
